Mary was born Mabel Katherine Matheson, but she didn't like Mabel and changed her name to Mary.
Mary Katherine (as we all called her) was born in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio to Roderick Garnet Matheson and Beatrice Lovella Lowe Matheson. She was the eldest of three children.
Her siblings were:
Roderick Joseph Matheson and Henry Edwin Matheson.
She was the mother of one son, still living as of 2017.
She was briefly married to a Joseph O'Malley in Columbus, Ohio in the 1920's and had a son together. Once they divorced, she married an Ed Nagy and they lived in Detroit, Michigan for all of Ed's life, and most of hers. She became ill with dementia and was brought back to the Columbus area where her son and his wife helped look after her until her death.
Mary Katherine was a short woman of about 4'11", thin, with blue eyes and reddish brown hair.
