Arlene was born in Worthington, Indiana to Alfred and Virginia Stahl Dyer. She married her high school sweetheart, Paul Wright of Coal City, Indiana after her graduation from Worthington High School and then moved to Indianapolis.
Paul and Arlene raised four daughters, Ginny Wright Askins, Paula Wright, Christy Wright and Joanne Wright. Paul and Arlene have two grandchildren, Cole Askins (Ginny and Paul Askins) and Emily Hemmer (Paula Wright).
Arlene was a homemaker and mother until her children were grown; she taught Sunday school at Englewood Christian Church for over 20 years, and retired from the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library. Arlene was a devoted wife, mother, member of her church, and had a lifelong love of animals after growing up on a dairy farm in Greene County, IN.
Arlene is survived by her husband of 52 years, Paul Wright; her four daughters, Ginny, Paula, Christy and Joanne; grandchildren, Cole and Emily; brother, John Dyer; sister, Flora Kay Mizer; as well as her two dogs, Phoebe and Sophie.
