Arthur Glen Brown, 53, of Detroit, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 20th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Tracy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Lone Star Cemetery in Red River County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Glen, the son of Arthur H. & Dorothy Vick Brown, was born October 22, 1959, in Dallas.
He attended North Lamar High School where he was class favorite his junior year. He received his welding degree from Paris Junior College and was a welder and worked in construction as a plumber and "jack" of all trades.
He worked in the Awanas Program at East Paris Baptist Church and most recently attended Double "R" Cowboy Church in Clarksville.
Glen loved bull riding, horses and ranching.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, his parents, Arthur & Dorothy Brown of Paris, children, Crystal Brown of Dallas, Cody Martin & wife Raqquell of Greenville, Kristi Johnson of Dallas, Kelly Newberry & husband Patrick of Detroit and Cody Phifer, grandchildren, Paisley Newberry, Sierra, Brielan, Jaylan, Derick & Melo, a brother, Stephen Brown & wife Teresa of Paris, a sister, Vickie Rowlan & husband Steven of Paris along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Cody Martin, Cody Phifer, Patrick Newberry, Matthew Martin, Daniel Martin and Gage Brown.
