Services for George Wiltshire at Poplar Springs
Last rites for James George Wiltshire, 71, were said from the Poplar Springs Baptist Church last Saturday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m. A Carroll County native, he was born November 3, 1891 and died April 4th, following a heart attack at his home. Officiating was Rev. Martin Smith, assisted by Rev. B. C. Nunn. Lee Funeral Home was in charge.
A member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Mr. Wiltshire was laid to rest in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, the former Pearl Yewell of Carrolton; and by one son, T. L. Wiltshire of Greenville and one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Bailey of Carrollton; and by three sisters, Mrs. B. A. Huggins of Coila, Mrs. Nellie Shumate of Greenwood, and Mrs. Jim Matthews of Cleveland.
Pallbearers were Clinton Shumate, A. L. Matthews, Lenow Shumate, Lonzio Wiltshire, Bill Trotter, and Clarence Huggins.
