Alice was the daughter of Vivian and Stanley Pray, the sister of Elizabeth (Betty), Rebecca (Becky) and Doris. The wife of Everett Winfield Purington, the mother of Kirk Everett, Diane Lee, and Bryan Purington. As well as being a Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was born on January 22, 1935 at home on the farm on Tolend Road, which still stands. She attended all local Dover school as well as Dover High. She married her only true love since childhood, Everett Purington, settled down on the family farm on upper Tolend Road, and raised her family. She loved family, as was evident of all the family "get-to-gethers", from all the holidays to birthdays, anniversarys, as well as hosting the family reunion on the 4th of July untill her death. She also loved her children as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. After her children had grown, and the family moved off the farm (moved across the field and built the "new" house in 1966), she started working at the Elliott Rose company part time with her sister Doris. She worked at both the one in Madbury, N.H., and down on Dover Point Road in Dover. After Everett passed on in 1977, she continued to live at the house on Tolend Road until her death. In her retirement, she enjoyed visiting the "Riverside Rest Home to help brighten up the days of the old folks who lived there, and she enjoy studying her Bible as a practicing "Jehovah's Witness".....Alice was a dirct decendent of Hannah Duston, of New Englands Indian folklore, as well as a direct decendent of William and Mary Brewster, who sailed from England to here on the ship, the "Mayflower" This lineage comes from her mother's side the "Cheney's"....She is also a direct decendent of Kings and Queens of England, France, and Denmark dating back to the year 795. Including King Charles the II. She was a "down to earth", good hearted, well liked woman who believed in herself, her family and God. As for myself, her son Kirk, I shall miss her for the rest of my life, and pray that we shall meet again....
