Roger C. Bangert Killed In Vietnam War Action. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bangert, Rt. 1, Albert Lea, have received word that their son, Roger Carl, 24 was killed in action in Vietnam, Jan, 22.

He had entered the service in March of last year.

He was born Jan. 24, 1945 in Albert Lea. He was a graduate of Emmons High School, Austin Junior College, and the University of Minnesota.

He was a member of the Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church, a 4-H member, and a member of Luther League.

He is survived by his parents, a sister, Karen; two brothers, Norman and Keith, and a grandfather, Will Schewe.

SERVICES FOR PFC. BANGERT PLANNED FRIDAY.

Funeral services for Pfc. Roger Carl Bangert, 23, who was killed in hostile action Jan. 22 at Don Tan, Vietnam, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Military honors will be accorded.

A son of Carl C. and Bernice Bangert, he was born Jan. 24, 1945 at Albert Lea. He was a graduate of Emmons High school in 1963 and of Austin Junior College. He received a bachelor of science in agriculture from the University of Minnesota in 1967.

Bangert was a member of Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church ad its Luther League and had been a member of Four Lakes 4-H Club.

Immediate survivors are; two brothers,Norman and Keith both of Albert Lea. Sister, Karen also of Albert Lea, Grandfather, Will Schewe. A sister, Mary Ann died in Infancy, and his grandparents, Mrs. Schewe and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bangert had preceded him in death.
