Union City, Tennessee – Joseph Wayne Wright, 65, of Union City, Tennessee, died Sunday, January 14, 1990, at Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Services were held at 1 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel in Martin with Rev. Harry Nolan and Rev. Truman Skaggs officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery in Martin.

Pallbearers were David Hogan, William Red Reese, Gerald Wall, Paul Robinson, Rudolph Massey, Billy Nolan, Earl Wright and John Sandefer.

Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Davis, Joe Knox Bass, Ronnie Nolan, Mrs. Frances Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Deward Sandefer, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wakefield and Mrs. and Mrs. Alpheus Crockett.

He was born in Martin on October 24, 1924. He was an agent for National Life and Accident Co., formerly managed Sears Catalog Store in Union City an was a supervisor of shipping and warehouses for Republic Builders Products in McKenzie. He also was a member of First Baptist Church of Union City.

Survivors include his wife, Allyne Smith Wright; and his father, Coy Wright of Martin.
