When his first wife, Elizabeth McMullen [or McMillen], died in 1885 in Howard, Kansas, he placed their five children in different homes, among relatives. His second wife, Lydia MILLER Liest Crider, is buried in the Salem Cemetery, Allen Co., Ohio.

Henry S. Crider and Elizabeth McMillen were married in Allen County, Ohio, on 28 Jan 1872.

The birth of Henry's and Elizabeth's first child, Mary Josephine Crider, is recorded at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Cridersville (Shawnee Twp., Allen Co., OH), on the occasion of her baptism, 17 May 1873. No record of baptism was found for her younger siblings at the same church.

Lived in Pettis Co., Missouri, in 1874, as his son, Isaac was born there.

Appearance in 1880 census at Heath Creek Twp., Pettis Co., Missouri, indicating the three eldest children were born in Ohio:

There is no tombstone for Henry Crider. There is a map and record in the church office that he is buried between John E. Crider and Eva M. Spencer. According to the map, his headstone should be where the concrete urn is located in these photos.
