Archie Leon Hogland, Sr., a resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life, Monday, January 14, 2013, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of seventy 76.

He was born, on June 13, 1936, in Cherokee, Alabama, the son of Archie Monroe and Eula Mae Wilson Hogland.

He married Miss Mary Frances Willcut on December 21, 1951.

He was a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church, served in the Army National Guard for twelve years, worked as a supervisor for Rubatex, and was a former Parkin Fire Chief. He enjoyed wood crafts, growing peaches, making wine, fishing, deer hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Hogland was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Kenneth Hogland, Charles Hogland and an infant brother, one sister: Joyce Bray, son-in-law: Ronnie Hodge.

Leon is survived by his wife of sixty-one years: Mary Hogland of the home, two sons: Butch Hogland and wife Pam of Wynne, Arkansas, Jeff Hogland and wife Paula of Wynne, Arkansas, 1 daughter: Brenda Hodge of Melbourne, Florida, 3 brothers: Glen Hogland of Parkin, Arkansas, Carlos Hogland of Jonesboro, Tennessee, Larry Hogland of Edmondson, Arkansas, 2 sisters: Elizabeth Ashcraft of Colt, Arkansas, Pam Morris of Mississippi, 6 grand-children, thirteen great-grand-children.

Funeral services were held at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne. Interment was in Parkin Cemetery, in Parkin, Arkansas.
