Michael "Mick" Naber, 61, husband of Kathy Schneeberger Naber, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, of a sudden illness at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, Wis.

Born May 28, 1946, in Rockford Ill., he was the son of Harold and Jane Fitzgerald Naber. A Pecatonica, Ill., area resident most of his life, he was employed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a design technician for the past 13 years. He was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Versailles, active in bowling and golf and an avid sports fan, especially racing. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Casey (Jessica) Naber, Murray, Ky., and C.J. Naber, Versailles; a sister, Jill Stites, Buffalo Grove, Ill.; a nephew, Ryan Stites, Buffalo Grove, Ill.; and a niece, Erin (Joseph) Vance, Schaumburg Ill.

A prayer service will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan 3, at Kenneth L. Countryman Funeral Home, 529 Washington Street, Pecatonica Ill., with a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Fr. Robert Sweeney. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Naber's name.
