May 4, 1899- The Pilot- Ida M. (Brown) Tharp

Mrs. Ida M. Tharp of Naponee, Nebr. died very suddenly of heart failure Sunday April 30. Deceased was the daughter of our well known townsman, Duane Brown. On December 25th, Ida M. Brown was married to Stewart Tharp and immediately took up their residence in Naponee. Mrs. Tharp had been troubled with heart disease for some time, and about the first of January suffered from an attack of grippe, from which she never fully recovered. When she retired last Sunday night she was as well, apparently, as usual, but awakened her husband soon after 10 o'clock saying that she was dying. A physician was called but death had claimed its own before he arrived, and at 11:30 she breathed her last. Though her life was short, being twenty-six years and eleven days, she had made many friends and was dearly loved by the family into which she had so lately entered. Her remains arrived in Blair Tuesday, accompanied by her husband and his mother, Mrs. J.R. Tharp. Short services were held at the grave conducted by Rev. Tingley.
