Ruth was sister to my direct ancestor: Abigail Hackenger Lord (6steps).

Ruth Lord, fifth daughter and seventh child of Joseph and Mary (Hovey) Lord, born in Windsor, VT, July 25, 1797, married first, in Ohio, in 1815, Aaron Bennett, son of William and Mary Bennett. He was born near Richmond, Va., in 1793, and died in St. Louis, Mo., Nov., 1817. She m. second, in Cincinnati, OH, in 1819, John Lewis, a native of Scotland, who died in New Orleans, La., in 1821. She married third. Rev. William Fraser, the former husband of her sister Lucinda. After the death of Eraser, she married fourth, Rev. John Kemp; and subsequently married fifth, John Stout. All efforts to obtain some account of the birth and parentage of these successive husbands of Ruth Lord, have signally failed. The compiler understands that John Stout, the last matrimonial venture of this lady, was also a preacher of some note in that part of the State. She died in Evansport, OH, Oct. 31, 1873.
