Elizabeth married George Petray, 2 Jan 1830, in Cabarrus Co., NC. They had 3 known children:

-Ransom Alexander Petray (1831-1906)
-Mary Ann Petray (1840-1872)
-Parthenia Petray (1845-1925)

Shortly after they were married in 1830, George and his wife joined a large group of family and friends who decided to move west. This large group of pioneers settle in Illinois Twp., Pop Co., AR.

After living in Arkansas for nearly 20 years, George decided to go West with hopes of finding gold in California. Elizabeth remained behind with the children, but eventually moved west to join him in Sonoma Co., where the family settled in Windsor, CA.

Elizabeth lived in Windsor until her husband's death, at which point she moved south to San Buenaventura, CA to live with her daughter Parthenia and her family, where she is found on the 1870 census. In 1880 she was still living with her daughter, but the family had moved back north to Hollister, CA.
