Funeral services for Pliley Allison Moon, 79, who died at his home in Canadian, Friday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today from the Church of Christ in Canadian with James Scott, minister officiating.
Moon, who was born March 25, 1869 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, moved to Canadian in 1878. He left in 1899 but he returned again in 1930 and had lived there since. He had been in poor health several years, and seriously ill two weeks.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Alice Moon of Canadian, he is survived by three step-daughters, Mrs. Hallie Miller of Canadian, Mrs. Geneva Hanna of Littlefield, Texas and Mrs. Thelma Evans of Long Beach, California; by two step sons, Lee Gilstrap of Bell Gardens, California, and Raymond Gilstrap of Canadian, by two sisters, Mrs. Alice McClung of Melrose, New Mexico, and Mrs. Georgie Wilson, Madera California; and by two brothers, Charley Moon of Flagstaff, Arizona and Rodney Moon of Grass Valley, Californa,.
Pall bearers for the services will be Burt Wood, J.G. Miller, Jesse Swires, Buster Porter,Cecil Morrow, and Bill Roberts.
Burial under the direction of the Duenkel-Carmichael Funeral Home will be in the Canadian Cemetery.
