She was born November 1, 1923, in Rock Castle, WV, to the late John Labon and Lucretia Frances Stone Sayre.
On December 2, 1939, she married Ray Elmer Barr in Leon, WV by James H Reed, Minister of the Gospel.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and canning. She attended the Mount Tabor Church, in Leon.
She is survived by 3 sons, one brother, 3 sisters, 13 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; sons Edward and Thomas; daughter, Louise Barr Pringle; grandson, James Barr; brothers, John H., Rueben, and Pearly, and sisters, Anna Mae Barr and Viola Sayre.
Visitation was from 6 pm until 8 pm Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Castro Funeral Home. Services were held at 4 pm Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Castro Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, WV with the Rev. Basil Barr officiating. Burial followed in the Barr Family Cemetery, Leon.
