She was a daughter of the late James Mullen and wife and was born in this vicinity Sept. 1856. In 1882 she was united in marriage to D.L. Poff who died a number of years ago.
Six children were born to them, all of whom are living in Argyle and vicinity. They are Mrs. John To. McDonnell, of Argyle, George, Lizzie, John, Nellie and Frank, all single and living at the home. Mrs. Poff also leaves four sisters, Mrs. Jane Reilly nad Nellie Mullen of Argyle, Mrs. M. Flannery and Mrs. Jas. Collentine of Adams.
The deceased was a woman of great responsibilities and always met them bravely and with a determination that carried her through her difficulties.
The funeral services were conducted at St. Joseph's church, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock by Father McNulty, who preached a beautiful and comforting funeral sermon. The interment took place in Calvary cemetery.
