Elvis R. Daughtrey, 79, of Paris, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, at his home while surrounded by his family.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14th, at First Baptist Church of Paris with Rev. Ken Cannon & Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Daughtrey, the son of Clay "Pamp" & Theo Roberts Daughtrey, was born May 20, 1933, in Lamar County.

He attended Powderly Schools and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. His career with Campbell Soup Company spanned thirty years before his retirement in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He had a great interest in tractors and was a member of the Red River Valley Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed sports & especially basketball. He enjoyed bluegrass music, and he & his wife, Nancy, were members of a supper club that meets the third Saturday night of the month.

His parents and four brothers, O. J., Edwin, Jay Bo, and Glen, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy, whom he married on Jan. 11, 1955, exactly 58 years on the day he passed away, a daughter, Vicki & husband Richard of Paris, grandchildren – who were the light of his life-, Dustin & Alicia of Ft. Smith, AR, Lindsay & Paul of Branson, MO, Chassidy of Paris and Connor of Paris, great grandchildren, Hannah, Lilya, Owen and Cora Beth, sisters, Margarette & husband Harold of Bartlett, TN, Jeannie & husband James of Powderly, Fay & husband J. D. of Powderly and Belle of Tyler along with several nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Sonny Daughtrey, Freddy Daughtrey, Brad King, Darrell Daughtrey, Greg Rook, Danny Shepard, Chuck Shepard, Jay Daughtrey, Chad Ward & Brian Robbins. Honorary bearers will be: Members of the Red River Valley Antique Tractor Club.
