Elizabeth Philomena McManus, wife of Frank McManus, 1213 Dewey avenue, passed away at the Bemidji Lutheran hospital at 11:15 Sunday night after an extended illness.

Funeral services, which will be held at St. Philip's Catholic church with The Rev. Father Jos. Fraling officiating, had not been definitely completed by early afternoon today.

Born July 20, 1869, at St. Margaret, Canada, the daughter of John William Brophy and Maria Cook, Mrs. McManus was past 70 years of age. Married to Frank McManus at Barnesville, Minn., November 15, 1886 she had made her home in Bemidji for the past 29 years.

Mrs. McManus was a member of St. Philip's Catholic church, the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters of which she was chief ranger for a number of years, and the Christian Mothers Society.

Surviving are her husband, Frank McManus; three sons, John W. and James P. of Bemidji and Frank of Sand Point, Idaho; four daughters, Mrs. George A. McDonald of Tampa, Florida, Mrs. L. P. McCormack of LcCrosse, Wisconsin, Mrs. J. J. Gainey and Miss Mary McManus of Bemidji. There are fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Surviving also are two brothers, P. J. Brophy of Sauk Center and J. T. Brophy of Bemidji, and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Conners of Stillwater and Mrs. Joe Little of Hankinson, North Dakota.
