Ray was a wonderful husband and father. He was a member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren. As a past deacon and paint contractor, he volunteered and worked on numerous disaster response projects and a disaster auction. Ray loved family and friends. He enjoyed crabs, oysters, Pepsi, NASCAR racing, antique cars, and doing the lords work. Ray loved the Lord. Ray was a special example of a Christian man, which was giving of his money and time.
Surviving is his wife, Gladys E., of 63 years. His children, James W. and wife, Laurene S, Gail V. Mantzell and husband, Robert D., Sharon L. Smith and husband, Mitch, Daniel R. and wife, Pamela G, Sandra K. Thrope and husband, Jim. He had 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Ray left two sisters, Rachel Colvin and husband, Claude, and Bonnie French.
