Essie Phillips, 81, of Sunny Hill Drive, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Welby Goodin and Octavie Stayton Goodin, was born in Taylor County, July 28, 1912. She died at 5:58 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1994 in Campbellsville after an illness. She was a member of the Campbellsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a former employee of Carnation Milk Company. She united in marriage to Elijah Phillips May 3, 1935. He preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1984. She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Max Phillips on March 4, 1944. She is survived by one daughter, Joycelyn Bartley of Campbellsville; two grandsons and one granddaughters: Dr. Roger Brockman of Noblesville, Ind.; Bart Bartley and Tibby Bartley-Cox both of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren: Jessica Lauren Brockman and Alex Brockman both of Noblesville, Ind.; Kristen Caulk Brockman, Victoria Alexa Cox, and Eli Bartley, all of Campbellsville; one sister, Sarah McCubbin of Campbellsville; several other relatives and many friends. Graveside service was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6 at the Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville by the Rev.
