CONNEAUTVILLE, Sept.14- Mrs. Almera Sturtevant Krick, widow of the late Irwin S. Krick, died at her home here at 11 o’clock Friday morning, following a final illness of about a month’s duration, although in declining health for several years.
Almera Sturtevant was born in 1844 on the homestead just north of Shadeland, and at he age of 13 years came to Conneautville, where she had since resided. In the year 1863 she became the wife of Irwin S. Krick, who was engaged in the hardware business here for many years, and whose death occurred in April, 1924.
During her long lifetime in the community Mrs. Krick had been identified with practically every worthy civic movement-active in social circles-a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church here- a charter member of the Shakespeare Club-the W.C.T.U.-Stone Memorial Library Association. At one time she served for several years as Conneautville correspondent for the Tribune-Republican. She was the last remaining member of her own and her husband’s family, and her death removes a beloved resident, highly respected by the entire community. She is immediately survived by a son, Kay G. Krick of Columbus, Ohio, and a daughter, Mrs. T.B. Evans, of Kane, PA.
Funeral services were held from Trinity Episcopal Church at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon in charge of the rector, Rev. Mr. Waldron, assisted by Rev. H.M. Hulman of Erie. Internment was in the family plot in Conneautville cemetery. Among the relatives and friends who came from a distance to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. Kay C. Krick, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. T.B. Evans and her son Robert, Kane, PA; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sturtevant, New York City; W.S. Gleason and son Walter, Johnsonburg, PA; Messrs. Arch and Clyde Klumph, Mrs. M. Klumph, Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Rell S. Green, Mrs. Ida Green, Dr. Millie J. Chapman and sister, Springboro.
