Augusta, GA---Mr. Marion Nesbit Dasher Sr., 95, died on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his home.
Born in Saluda, South Carolina to George Martin Dasher and Ann Waddey Dasher, Mr. Dasher spent most of his life in Augusta. He was preceded in death by his treasured wife of 57 years, Ada Davidson Dasher, and their daughter, Martha Minta Dasher.

Mr. Dasher was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration. While at the university, he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Mr. Dasher worked for The Babcock & Wilcox Co., now known as Thermal Ceramics, for forty years as the head of human resources. He was an active member of Saint John United Methodist Church, where he sang tenor for many years in the Chancel Choir. He was also a longtime member of the Official Board, served on the Administrative Council and as church treasurer. He was likewise very active in Augusta's civic community as a member of the Augusta Lions Club, of which he was also a past president. Mr. Dasher enjoyed woodworking and was known for his fine craftsmanship. In his later years, he turned this hobby into clock making. Many people of Augusta can claim one of the countless timepieces that he made as gifts for friends and loved ones.

Mr. Dasher is survived by his children: Marion Nesbit Dasher Jr., Patricia Ann Dasher, George Albert Dasher, Judith Cauthen Dasher and Paula Wood Johannsen; nine grandchildren: Meredith Leigh Dasher, Harrison Kuhn Rhee, David Albert Dasher, Leigh Anne Dasher, Sarah Davidson Dasher, Louisa Mershon Dasher, Jimpsey Burke Johnson III, Harry Phillip Johnson and Lena Ruprecht Johnson; and six great-grandchildren: Haley Ann Johnson, Evan Phillip Johnson, Lila Dasher Rhee, Wilson Dasher Rhee, Albert Emile Dasher and Louis Robins Dasher.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 P.M. tomorrow Saturday, January 12, 2013 in Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Gary DeMore officiating.

Pallbearers were Curt Strickland, Bill Bohling, Tom Altizer, Bob Zeyfang, Charles Piercy and Jack Jackson. Members of the Henry Bible Class served as honorary pallbearers.
