Placida was born on July 20, 1923.
Placida was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Placida loved her weekly ceramic get togethers. Placida was preceded in death by her son, Eugenio Saavedra, parents, Nicholas and Bertolita Alderete and brother, Luis Alderete.
Placida is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Saavedra, son, Nick Saavedra, daughter-in-law, Nora Saavedra, granddaughters, Nicole and Gabriela whom she adored, sisters, Angelita Mora and Dulcinea Chávez, sisters-in-law, Menta Torres, Martha Ramírez, Cecelia Vigil, brothers-in-law, Hernandez Saavedra and Abelind Saavedra, several nieces and nephews, two very special people, Orlando and Eliza Esquíbel and other family and friends who loved and will miss her.
Services will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2000. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, with burial following at San José de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Chávez, Anthony Gutiérrez, Johnny Chávez, Ernie Saavedra, Gary Gómez and Milton Torrez.
