Mr. Pitzer operated a store at Helmsburg, Indiana for the past 20 years and was well known. He was affiliated with the Morgantown Masonic Lodge and the Helmsburg Methodist Church. He is survived by the widow, Orie.
Last rites were held at the Helmsburg Methodist Church, Saturday, August 6, 1949, at 2 p.m. (CST) for Charles C. Pitzer, 74 of Helmsburg. Rev. Austin conducted the services and graveside rites were conducted by the Morgantown Masonic Lodge. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cememtery.
Mr. Pitzer was born in Brown County, Indiana on January 26, 1875, the son of Jasper Riley Pitzer and Appalonia Coffman Pitzer. Survivors include one brother, Alby Pitzer of Route 4, Indianapolis; and one sister, Catherine C. Pitzer Phelps, Indianapolis.
Married, 1st, Mary Salina "Lina" Ward Turner on October 9, 1934 in Indiana. No children.
Married, 2nd, Orie Martha Griffin Harris on November 12, 1946 in Nashville, Brown County, Indiana. No children.
