GERALD HUGH PARKER
Services for Gerald Hugh Parker, 54, of 601 Dogwood Lane, Weaver, were to be today at 11 a.m. at Gray Brown Service Chapel with the Rev. John Haskew officiating. Burial was to be in Forestlawn Gardens.
Mr. Parker died Saturday in a Birmingham hospital after a short illness.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Parker; two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Ann Wofe of Smyrna, Ga., and Debra Kay Parker of Weaver; a son, Gerald B. Parker of Weaver; seven sisters, Mrs. Buena Haile of Hendersonville, N.C., Mrs. Christine Hayes of Jacksonville, N.C., Mrs. Margaret Cole of Weaver and Mrs. Gertrude Pensyl of Brownsville, N.J., Mrs. Annie Mae Elwell of Weaver, Mrs. Elizabeth Kate Shephan of Jacksonville and Mrs. Ethel Grogan of Coldwater; two brothers, Col. Warren Parker of Fayetteville, N.C.; and Col. Brandon Parker of Huntsville; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Clinton Shipman, Howard Grogan, Arthur Elwell, Donald Elwell, Robert Parker, John Parker, Bryan Cole, Jack Haile, Johnny Parker, Jerry Ferguson and Daniel Parker.
Mr. Parker was a native of Anniston and had lived in the city for 13 years. He was a veteran of World War II and of the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Air Force 21 years and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1962. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Kennesaw 33 of Mariett, Ga. He was the owner of Parker Insurance for seven years.
Memorials may be made to the heart fund.
