COPELAND, Dorothy M., 81, of Springfield, passed away January 10, 2013 in Oakwood Village. She was born August 3, 1931 in Springfield the daughter of Bernard and Lillian A. (Wild) Copeland. Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of Catholic Central High School. She worked as a personal assistant at Bauer Bros. for 35 years, was proficient at cross-stitching and volunteered many years at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Survivors include a sister, Springfield and two brothers, Springfield; sister-in-law, St. Albans, VT; brother-in-law, Springfield and 42 nieces and nephews. Dorothy would like to thank her many friends for their prayers and care, especially Deacon Norm and Lou Ann Horstman and Dorothy MacLeod for their special care. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann and her brothers, James "Bub", Bernard, Bob and Tom. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in St. Raphael Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
