Mrs. Cassie Allene Dohoney, daughter of the late Mr. Ben Coffey and Mrs. Maggie Reliford Coffey, was born January 10, 1914, in Green County and departed this life on Tuesday, June 14, 1997, at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg. She was 83 years, five months and seven days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the St. Marks United Methodist Church. She was also the owner and operator of the Dohoney Grocery for over 30 years. She united in marriage to Mr. Guy Dohoney on June 30, 1934, who preceded her in death on August 16, 1989. To this union were born two daughters: Kathy D. Shuffett of Summersville and Sue Vaughn of Greensburg. She is also survived by a son-in-law: Mickey Vaughn of Greensburg; three sisters and one brother: Lillian Willis, Beatrice Adkins, both of Columbia, Bertha Willis of Glasgow, and Garnett Coffey of Lebanon; four grandchildren: Mark Vaughn of Bowling Green, Laura Benningfield of Campbellsville, Melane Hall of Campbellsville, and Brad Shuffett of Summersville; two great-grandchildren: Maggie Vaughn of Bowling Green and Jilly Benningfield of Campbellsville; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services for Mrs. Cassie Allene Dohoney were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at of the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Rev. Dale Curry and Rev. Rob Keltner officiated. Pallbearers were Ron Benningfield, Wendell Shirley, Junior Spire, Loyd Booker, Doug Hall, George Wallace Shirley and Johnny Wayne Keltner.
