Marie Felicia (LaFouge) Horsch was born April 16, 1919 to Ferdinand August and Mary Ellen (Brophy) LaFouge in Greenbush, KS.
Marie married Peter Paul Horsch on December 28, 1937 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Wellington, KS. They celebrated 67 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 18, 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; two sons, Benny and Ronny Horsch; and three grandchildren, Felicia Horsch, Katherine Horsch and Jeff Horsch.
She is survived by seven sons, Bill Horsch and his wife Lynda of Wellington, Kansas, Jim Horsch and his wife Helen of Richmond, Texas, Tom Horsch and his wife Ruth of Goddard, Kansas, John Horsch and his wife Cristal of Fort Scott, Kansas, Terry Horsch and his wife Janice of Wellington, Kansas, Mike Horsch and his wife Kristi of Wellington, Kansas, Kenny Horsch of Wellington, Kansas; five daughters, Mary Ellen Williams and her husband Jim of Belle Plaine, Kansas, Linda Smith and her husband Franklin of Summerville, South Carolina, Paula Gill and her husband Steve of Wellington, Kansas, Sammie Nugen and her husband Gregg of Wellington, Kansas, Patti Johnson and her husband Roy of Lewisville, North Carolina. Marie was one of 11 children and is survived by the youngest in the family, Jeannie Sullivan of Wichita, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 9:00 – 5:00 P.M. In honoring Marie's wishes the casket will remain closed.
Rosary will be held at St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church in Wellington, KS on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. Family visitation will follow the Rosary at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church. Father Andrew J. Seiler Celebrant. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington, KS.
Memorials have been established with the Wellington Food Bank and Rivercross Hospice in lieu of flowers. Memorials can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
