She passed on January 1, 2013 in Stafford, Texas.
She was a bone and breast cancer survivor but succumbed from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Ethel was a dealer and unit manager with Stanley Home Products for 20 plus years. She then worked for Houston Reporting and Records Service from 1981 to 2002.
Ethel was a very compassionate person taking care of her family, especially her son who needed her care daily and later her husband and son during their battle with cancer. She was positive about life beyond everything else.When she became ill her husband turned around and took care of her.
Ethel is survived by her loving husband, Tom L. Holland, to whom she had been married to since 1946; son, Larry Holland and wife Diana; two daughters, Sherry McKeithen and husband Steve and Kathy Genung and husband Steve; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Doris Kohleffel; sister-in-law, Linda Rodgers; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Hamilton Rodgers and Annie Rodgers, son, Gary L. Holland, and two brothers, Alton Rodgers and Lester Rodgers.
Burial will take place in the Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus, Texas.
