Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the David Clayton and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Duncanville with 3 p.m. graveside services at Shady Grove Cemetery in Pattonville. Mrs. Higdon had taught at Fairmeadows Elementary School in Duncanville for 17 years. Surviving are her husband, Doyle; three daughters, Lanell Higdon of Duncanville, Ann Gatlin of Duncanville and Beth Rushing of Bonham; a son, Howard Higdon of Arlington, eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and three sisters, Grace Macham of Dallas, Mary Opal Vancurler of Cottonwood, CA and Vada Mae Hoover of Pattonville.'
