Died, at his home one half mile south of Jane, Uncle Tom Lamb, as he was familiarly called. What can I say of our worthy friend that will lessen the gried of his bereaved family and friends other than to say that everybody loved him and after all, we are but one family and all will miss him as he was every man's trusted friend. He lived and died a consistent christian and it may well be said, " Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord."
White Rock:
Sadness fell on every citizen of this community Friday morning then they learned of the death of Mr. J. T. Lamb of this place. He had been sick for several month. Although we regret to lose him he was prepared and ready to go. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church and will be very missed from the church. He leaves a wife, one daughter, and five sons, besides other relatives and friend to mourn this departure. The remains were laid to rest in White Rock Cemetery Sunday afternoon. The writer extends sympathy to the Bereaved. ( January 18, 1918)
