Big Stone Gap, VA - Nancy Jane Robbins Light, 74, entered into her heavenly home on Tuesday, Jan. 08, 2013.
She was born on Feb. 21, 1938 in the Needmore Community of Norton, VA. She was of the Baptist faith and was a born again Christian at an early childhood age. She was a loving wife, mother, Granny and Honorary Granny to many others. Nancy was adored by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Light, Jr.; a son, Larry Wayne Light; her parents W.C, Sr. and Ora Etta (Sturgill) Robbins; a brother, Hershel Robbins; and sisters, Beulah Adams and Dixie Wells.
She is survived by her son, Gregory Light and wife Deonna; daughter, Peggy Galloway and husband, Melvin and daughter, Deborah Mullins; grandchildren, Joy Lee, Hope Dishner, Melonie Galloway, Cody Galloway, Adam Light, Anthony Light, Lori Jane Mullins, Angela Light, Joshua Light and Billy Wayne Light; fourteen great grandchildren; brother, W.C. Robbins, Jr.; sister, Eva Owens; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap, VA.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Ray Holcomb officiating.
Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Laurel Grove Cemetery, Norton, VA.
The family and friends will meet at Holding Funeral Home by 10:15 a.m. on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Big Stone Gap Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 128, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.
