Frances "Frankey" Penn Lee was the wife of (1) Ambrose Lee, and (2) Drury Tucker. She was the daughter of George Penn and Ann Fleming.

After first husband Ambrose Lee died, Frances married 2nd husband Drury Tucker, a widower whose first wife Susanna Douglass had died. When Frances Penn Lee married Drury Tucker, she raised raised his as well as her own children (and their children) together. Her daughter (by Ambrose) married Frances' stepson William Wofford Tucker. Frances, therefore, served at their wedding as both the mother of the bride and step-mother of the groom.

The exact burial location of Frances Penn Lee Tucker and her husbands (1) Ambrose Lee and (2) Drury Tucker has not been confirmed. It is possible one or all of them are buried at Tucker Cemetery in Amherst County, VA. This old historic family graveyard is adjacent to the old Tucker Homeplace on private property. The google map shows this cemetery to be located just off State Route 620 near Indian Creek Road. The cemetery GPS Coordinates are: Latitude: 37.71440, Longitude: -79.08610. A volunteer who photographed the graveyard in January 2013 was unable to locate any headstones from the 1700's still standing. It is possible she is in a now unmarked grave in this graveyard or elsewhere on the property that is believed to have once been part of vast Tucker land holdings in the 1700's and 1800's in Amherst County. Most grave markers from that era were wooden or common field stones, or of other material that easily disintegrated over time. Estate of Drury Tucker and his widow Frances Tucker were settled in Amherst County, VA and disbursed to their children. Will of Drury Trucker referred to his widow as "beloved wife Frankey".

"Greetings,"

"I am a direct line descendant of William Lea/ Lee(Sr.)and Rachel Ambrose Lea/Lee.
William Lea/Lee (Sr.) (xref F.A.G. #103407591), father of Ambrose Lee (and William Lee Jr.), left a will in Amelia County, Virginia (1770; page 328). In it he names "Rachel my dearly beloved wife"... and children ... "to wit Elizabeth Clarke, Mary Walden, Ann Bennet, William Lea, Sarah Penn, Joseph Lea, Andrew Lea, Milly Dudley, Lucy Lea and John Lea and my son Ambrose Lea's (dec'd) children being seven in number. Just a few years prior to his father's death in 1764, the deceased son, Ambrose Lea (xref F.A.G. #103340960), had left his will in Amherst County, VA (Will Book 1, pages 44 thru 47). He named "my Loving Wife" and children "Son Frank", "Son George", "Son Richard" and "Daughters Elizabeth, Jeane, Suckey, and Nancy" - seven in number. It is the same number given in grandfather William Lea's record. Executors of Ambrose's will were: "My beloved Wife, George Penn, William Lee, and Gabl Penn".

"When Frances Penn Lee Tucker died she too left a will - written in 1808 and recorded in 1812 in Patrick County, Virginia (Will Book 1, page 110). She states in her will ...'first my desire and wish is that all my estate and the money in hand, as well as that which may be due me...to be equally divided between my first six children namely George Lee, Richard Lee, Elizabeth Crutcher, Susannah Harrison, Jane Tinsley and Nancy Tucker'. She goes on to provide for 'my son Robert Tucker'. Francis Lee (Frank) was likely deceased as of her death date. (I have a date of 1791 for that event; however, I do not have documentation for it.) Her executors were given as 'my nephew, Georg Penn and my son in law Richard Harrison'. It was witnessed by Brett Stovall, Thos. Penn, and Hamman Critry (or possibly Critz)."
