Death of Mrs Claude Nutter

Last Friday morning Mrs. Ada Belle Nutter died suddenly and expectly. A child was born to her the day before, apparently healthy and strong but after a few hours of life passed away. This was a great blow to the parents, and especially to the mother who had been troubled with heart disease all her life. On Friday morning she called her husband to her side and expressed a desire to see her babe. After looking upon its little form she quietly joined its young spirit , leaving her tabernacle in the arms of her husband. None were expecting this sad event, and it fell like a thunderbolt out of a clear sky, almost prostrating the relatives, some of whom were away from home.

The funeral was held in the M.E. Church of Montesano, on Sunday morning, the sermon being preached by Prof. A. W. Brown, in the absence of the pastor. The church was filled with sympathizing friends and many followed the casket containing the bodies of mother and child to the cemetery.

Ada B. Nutter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Carter, was born February 25, 1880, on the home place across the Chehalis river, south of Montesano. Her whole life was spent in this community. She was married to Claude F. Nutter November 2, 1897. They made their home in the community, living happily together. On Friday morning with the words "don't leave me", spoken by her husband she passed away to meet her creator leaving many sorrowing ones behind. She was 18 years, 5 months and 14 days old at the time of her death.
