Possibly born in South Carolina. Son of Reuben & Elizabeth (FAVORS) FAVORS - Reuben's second wife. Robert married 16 NOV 1849 in Talbot County, Georgia, to Dortha M. THOMPSON. She reportedly died about 1864, and Robert married second on 09 JUN 1864 in Russell County, Alabama, to Elizabeth WRIGHT. Said to be father of 16 children. Died near Geneva.

On the 1860 census of Beat 1 (served by the Crawford Post Office), Russell County, Alabama, Robert FAVORS (35) is farming, with wife D. P. (30) and children T. E. (female, 9), D. W. (male, 7), S[arah] I. (or L. for Lizzie? female, 5), L. J. (?, male, 4), and A[lice] J. (1) - all persons in household reportedly born in Georgia; personal assets reported as $200.

"Death of Mr. Robert FAVORS. (Talbotton New Era.) // On Friday morning at five o'clock at his home, near Geneva, Mr. Robert FAVORS died of paralysis. Mr. FAVORS was 85 years of age. He was the father of 16 children and was the first to die of his family. He was never known to be sick enough to stop work until about a month before his death. He was one of the old types of our early pioneers, to be truthful and honest was his watchword. He was married in this county more than fifty years ago to a Miss THOMPSON. For a number of years he lived in Alabama but moved back to his home of his death about 10 years ago. He was the father of Mr. J. W.
