Virginia "Ginger" Allen

Groves - Elizabeth Virginia "Ginger" Allen, 82 of Groves died Friday, December 12, 2003 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and had just recently moved to Groves to be with her family. She was a 1938 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School where she was a member of the Red Hussars. Ginger was a homemaker and member of St. James Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Allen, her son, Charlie Allen, her grandson, Reagan Allen, and five siblings.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 14. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Monday, December 15 at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home with Father J.C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ross and Sharon Allen of Groves, Texas, Ronnie and Mary Allen of Austin, Texas, and Donna Allen of Nederland, Texas; grandchildren, Jeffery Allen, Christopher Allen, Chad Allen, Nathan Allen, Jacob Allen, Erica "Nikki" Allen, Kristi Allen, Lindsi Allen and Tate Allen.
