Taltha Allene (Harper) Seldomridge

Taltha Allene Seldomridge, 86, of Corsicana passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at home.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. B. F. Risinger Jr. and Brother Bill Honea officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Robert Thurston, Brian Hand, Joe Bob Tekell, John Slate, Grover Pearson, Artis McNeel and Joe Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Maxfield and Tommy Mitcham.

Mrs. Seldomridge was born May 19, 1917, in Blum in Hill County to Will J. and Fleta Hamilton Harper. She lived in Hill County until 1939 when she married Milton Seldomridge of Logan, W.V., and went there to live except for three years in San Francisco, Calif., during World War II. While there she worked as a telephone operator while her husband served in the Coast Guard. They moved back to Texas in 1967 settling in Corsicana. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Seldomridge was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Milton Seldomridge Sr. in 1989.

She is survived by a son, Milton Seldomridge Jr. and wife Anita of Corsicana; three grandchildren, Kevin and wife Jeri Seldomridge, Stacey and husband Richard Pair and Justin Seldomridge, and step granddaughter, Michelle McCarter, all of Corsicana; four great-grandchildren, Ashton and Colton Pair and Amber and Weston Seldomridge, and two step great-grandchildren, Justin and Tracy Thomas, all of Corsicana; three sisters, Leola Tinsley of Corsicana, and Lucille Branscome and Mozelle Wooten, both of Hillsboro; a brother, Ralph and wife Rosemary Harper of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Lurena Harper of Mission and Rissie and husband Ivan Runyon of Logan, W.V.; one brother-in-law, Eugene and wife Susan Seldomridge of Rogers, Ark.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
