Calvin "Farmer" died Thursday, January 13, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis, Ill.

He was born July 4, 1927, in Randolph, Neb., the son of Arthur James and Edna Belle (Boyd) Lofgren. He married Bonnie Jean Bisby/Guthrie, July 9, 1950, in East Moline. He had worked as a semi-driver for Dimock & Gould, Moline, Ill., for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He was an excellent carpenter. He loved gardening, fishing and pheasant hunting. He raised rabbits and enjoyed feeding the birds.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Jean, of East Moline; daughters, Patricia Daggett, of Silvis, and Lori Lofgren, of East Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Debra Lofgren, of East Moline, David and Deborah Lofgren, of East Moline, and Ronald and Tracey Lofgren, of Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren, Robert Jr., Richard, Ryan, Joshua, Emily, Rebecca, Andrew, Dustin, Stephanie, Andrea, Jeff, Justin, Nicole, and Courtney; great-grandson, Alex; and sister, Arlene Buegge, of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, three brothers and daughter-in-law, Dana Lofgren.

Funeral services for Calvin F. Lofgren, 77, of East Moline, Ill., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
