John Henry Blake was born December 1847 in Mississippi, and in 1860 he is age 12 in the Holmes County, Mississippi Census. His wife, Eugenia Tolson, applied for a Texas Confederate Widow's pension out of Harris County, Texas in 1925 and she gave her husband's death as October 8, 1915 in Harris County, Texas. John Henry Blake served in the Confederate Army in Blake's Scouts and his parole gave his residence in 1865 as Lexington, Holmes County, Mississippi.
