Passed away peacefully at home in New Berlin, WI, surrounded by family on January 2, 2012. Age 79. Loving husband of Geri (nee Powers). Dear father of Patricia, Peter, Susan (Scott), and Linda. Grandpa (Papa) will be missed by Bryann (Andrew), Christopher, Chad, Paydon, Kimberly (Kevin), Shane, Samantha, Lynsey, Austen, and Courtney. Marek, Avianna, and Zoe made Grandpa great. Survived further by nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Howard and Mabel; and sisters, Helen, Jean, and Judy. He served in the US Navy and retired from AT & T in December, 1991. Hobie loved the Packers, Brewers, golf, bowling, hunting, and backyard barbeques. Longtime member of the American Legion, VFW, Masonic Temple and Telephone Pioneers. Special thank you to Pastor Steve, Comfort Keepers, and Compassionate Care Hospice. Memorials appreciated to Tabernacle Baptist Church of West Allis and Wisconsin Parkinson Center. Our family extends our heartfelt appreciation to special caregiver, Cheryl.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, in New Berlin, WI, 262-786-8009, on Thursday, January 10, at 3:00-6:45 PM. Funeral Service at 7:00 PM.

Additional services will be held at Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, in Madison, WI, 608-221-5420. Visitation at 10:00 AM. Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon. Burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
