Cecil Bellson Carter, 60, Greenfield Rt. 3, died unexpectedly Wednesday at 2 P.M. while visiting a neighbor, Russell Crothers. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
He was born December 26, 1900, in Pike County, a son of Oliver and Laura Shoemaker Carter.
He was a retired construction worker.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ercle Smith; two sons, Cecil Jr. of Chillicothe and Elias G. Carter of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Luther Jett of Greenfield, Oliver Carter, Greenfield Rt. 3 and Henry and Wilbur Carter of Waverly; seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Six children, a sister and four brothers predeceased him.
Services were held Saturday at 10:30 A.M. in the Anderson Funeral Home in Greenfield, Rev. Noble Miller officiating and burial following in West Wood Cemetery, Latham, Ohio.
