Lois L. Nungester, age 83, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in Christian Health Care East. She resided most of her life in Independence, Mo. She was born in Joplin, Mo., on May 20, 1927 to Moses and Vera (Roberts) Martin. She was a retired Benefit Authorizer for the Social Security Administration in Kansas City, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Chester and three sisters, Mildred, Dorothy and Mary;daughter-Sandy Mills; husbands, Harold Mills, Jim Chilcutt and Leon Nungester. She is survived by a daughter and 3 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. Services will be at 3pm, on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home South with burial set at a later date in Kansas City, Mo.
