Valletta was the daughter of Valentine and Sabyila Thomas Adams. She was twice married. Her first husband was James R. Weagley, who died July 21, 1863. They had at least 5 children, a son Valentine who died in 1861 very young, a baby daughter Jeanette, died about 1865, Dr. Charles W.C. Weagley who died in 1886 at age 30, and John Weagley and Valletta Keller who survived. She then married George Washington Blessing, who died in 1906. They had one daughter, Minnie, who survived. She was also survived by grandchildren and her sister Jeanetti Nelson.
Valletta was a founder of the St. John's Reformed Church in Buckeystown, Maryland, and remained an active member there.
