Born in Jellico, TN on March 3, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Jonas and Sally Lamb Hicks.
She was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church, Sapphire Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Oneida, and Scott County Fair Association.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Allen; daughter, Peggy Ann Allen; brothers, Edgar and Clyde Hicks; sisters, Eva and Ettie Jeffers, Rachel, Alice, and Ethel Hicks.
Mrs. Allen is survived by three children, Shirley Curtis and husband Jim of Jefferson City, TN, Fred Allen and wife Diane, and Rebecca Griffith and husband Jimmey all of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Stacie Landefeld and husband Tim, Jennifer Smallwood and Husband Chris, Greg Allen, and Brooke Griffith; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Rebecca Landefeld; special friends, Rose and Daryl Krahn and Bud Ward
Friends may visit with the Allen family on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne King officiating.
Entombment service will be on Saturday, January 12 at 10 a.m. in the Carson Memorial Mausoleum.
Pallbearers: Daryl Krahn, Sam Krahn, Bud Ward, Harold Hicks, Greg Allen, and Chris Smallwood.
Honorary Pallbearers: Junior Terry, and Luther Chambers.
