Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church for Charles M. Johnston, a retired Pacific Northwest Bell employee, who died Wednesday in a Prineville nursing home. He was 88.

Mr. Johnston was born in Logan but lived most of his life in Portland. He moved to Powell Butte in Central Oregon in 1982.

He worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 30 until he retired.

He was an elder in the Mount Taber Presbyterian Church and was a 50-year member of the Sellwood Masonic Lodge 131 AF&AM. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.

He is survived by a son, Donald of Powell Butte; a sister, Myrl Scott of gig Harbor, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
