He was born in Germany, June 9, 1826, confirmed in the Lutheran Church the 14th of April, 1840, married on the 27th of March, 1852, to Sophia Maria Catherine Cohler, and to them were born 9 children. He came to this country in the year of 1882 and settled in Belmont.
He leaves a wife, four sons and four daughters to mourn his loss. He was always a kind husband and a loving father.
The services were held at the German Lutheran Church, Saturday afternoon by Rev. Paul Bieger and his body was laid to rest in the Belmont cemetery.
