DEERING, New Hampshire -- Mr. Roy G. Blanchard, of Deering, NH, passed away with his family at his side on Wednesday afternoon, December 12, 2007, in Concord, NH.
Mr. Blanchard was born October 6, 1918, in Mt. Holly, Vt., son of the late Guy A. Blanchard and Helen [Maranville] Blanchard.
He attended school in Vermont and married Bernadine A. Hicks in 1946. Mr. Blanchard was a truck driver for his entire working life. He enjoyed the outdoors, doing word search puzzles, and watching professional wrestling on television. But his greatest love was his family and spending time with them.
Mr. Blanchard leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Bernadine Blanchard of Deering, NH; two sons, Gregory A. Blanchard, Sr. of Pittsfield, NH, and John R. Blanchard of Henniker, NH; a daughter, Cynthia Christian and husband, Keith, of Fitzwilliam, NH; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by a son, Eric Blanchard, a brother and a sister.
At the family's request, there were [no?] calling hours. A graveside service was conducted on Sunday, May 18, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the family plot in the Hollow Cemetery in Pittsburg, NH.
