THE PARIS NEWS, June 29, 2007: 'William F. 'Bill' Dobbs, 82, of Paris passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007, at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received him into their care. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, June 30, at Shady Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Carter Lyles officiating. He was born March 12, 1925, in Ennis, the son of Turner and Mary Smith Dobbs. He married Hazel Ann Wilson in 1954. He was a truck driver and later in life he was a rancher and farmer. He also was a member of the Mason's Lodge. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. As long as he was talking and had a cup of coffee in his hand, he was fine. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by two sisters, Edna Mae Melton and husband, Jimmy, of Wills Point and Katherine Wilson and husband, Clyde, of Mesquite; one brother, Franklin Dobbs and wife, Margie, of Ennis; a nephew, Harold Dean Black and wife, Carolyn, of Paris; three sisters-in-law, Fannie Bell Edwards and husband, Thomas, Gladys Mae Mach and husband, Emil, and Louise Lee Black, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
