Ruth was the daughter of Seth and Sarah Thayer Dorman. Her mother, Sarah Thayer Dorman , was the eldest child of Ephraim Thayer and Sarah Bass Thayer of Braintree; a couple remarkable for a family of fourteen children, who all came to maturity, were all heads of families, were all, with their fourteen partners, members of the church, and all sat down at one time with their parents at the Table of the Lord. It may be doubted whether the world can furnish a parallel.
