"The LaFayette Sun" - September 20, 1893:

Another Home Made Sad.

Last Saturday in the early morning hours, the pure, sweet spirit of little Frank Scarborough, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Scarborough, passed away from earth to find eternal rest and joy in Heaven. This precious boy for two years had been the joy of the household – bright in mind, sweet in temper, and beautiful in person, he was loved by all who knew his winning ways, and many hearts were sad to know the young life had been brought to an end. No sweeter picture of “Asleep in Jesus” had our eyes for a long time beheld than that presented by the little form dressed in white and encoffined with flowers. A large number of friends gathered at the darkened home last Sunday at 2 o’clock p.m., to pay the last tribute of love to the dear little boy, and to mingle tears of sympathy with the tears of the weeping and most broken-hearted parents. The pastor, Dr. Bledsoe, conducted a brief and appropriate service and then the sad procession moved to the “Silent City” to lay away the precious dust to await the Resurrection. May God give grace and strength to the stricken parents is the prayer of many friends who feel deepest sympathy for them in their sad bereavement.
